A boat journey essay :-

Occasion

1. Our school was closed for the Kartik Purnima. We had one say's holiday The students of my hosted decided to go on a boating trip and thus to pass a happy holiday. We were about 40 in number and so it was decided to hire two boats and to start in two batches.

preparation of the trip

2. My batch, consisting of 18 students, reached the Collectorate that early in the morning. In my batch there was a boy who was a talented singer. He also knew how to play on the harmonium. We were all in perfect holiday mood . So,we arranged for a harmonium and a tabla and took these with us. We had a mind to take bath in the middle of the Ganges. So, we all took one set of extra clothes with us. We also took some cooked food and some provisions and a stove with us. Our programme was to go up to Sonepur to visit the fair. We had decided to return the next morning by steamer.

Course of the journey

3. We hired a boat, boarded it, and started. The weather was the. There was neither strong wind nor strong current . The boatman held the oars and began to row.The boat was gliding slowly through the gentle waves of the river. We were silently enjoying the scenery on either side of the river. On one side the big and massive buildings were slowly receding into the background. They were looking like toy-huts.

On the other side there was a vast expanse of sand. After rowing for some time we reached o place where there was only neck-deep water. Here the boat was stopped and we got down into the water to take our bath. After taking our bath we again came the boat. It started again. We took our refreshment on the boat. Then we took up the programme of music. The melodious song of my friend echoed on the gentle waves of the river. It resounded in the still and noiseless atmosphere of the river.

Difficulty

4. We were now approaching the confluence of the Ganges and the Gandak. It is a dangerous spot for small boats, especially when the weather is rough and-disturbed. Fortunately for us, the weather was calm. The current also was favourable . We had no major trouble.

Termination of the trip

5. We had again a smooth course .Our music ceased and we began playing cards. After a journey of five and a half hours we reached Sonepur at noon. The temple of Shri Hariharnath was close to the ghar. We, at first visited the temple of Shri Hariharnath. Then we came out to go round the fair.

अवसर

1. हमलोगो का स्कूल कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के लिए बंद था। हमलोगों को एक दिन को छुट्टी थी । हमारे छात्रावास के विद्यार्थियों ने नाम पर पर्यटन करने का और इस तरह आनंदपूर्वक छुट्टी बिताने का निश्चय किया। हमलोग लगभग चालीस की संख्या मे थे इसलिए दो नाव भाड़े पर ठीक कर दो दलों में चलने का निश्चय किया गया।

पर्यटन के लिए तयारी

2. हमलोगों का दल जिसमे अठारह विद्यार्थी थे, प्रातःकाल कलक्टरी घाट पहुंचा हमारे दल में एक विद्यार्थी था जो बड़ा ही योग्य गायक था। वह हारमोनियम ना भी जानता था। हमलोग पूर्ण रूप से छुट्टी की मुद्रा में थे। इसलिए हमलोगों ने एक हारमोनियम और तबले का प्रबंध कर अपने साथ ले लिया।

गंगा के बीच मे स्नान करने की इच्छा हमलोगों की थी। इसलिए हमलोगों ने कुछ फालतू कपड़े अपने साथ ले लिए थे। हमलोगों ने बना हुआ कुछ भोजन एवं खाद्य पदार्थ तथा एक स्टीव भी अपने साथ ले लिया था। हमलोगों का प्रोग्राम सोनपुर जाकर मेला देखने का था। हमलोगों ने दूसरे दिन सुबह स्टीमर से वापस आने का निर्णय कर लिया था।

यात्रा का क्रम

3. हमलोग एक नाव किराए पर लेकर उसपर चढ़े और रवाना हुए। मौसम सुहावना था, न हवा तेज थी और न धारा तीव्र मल्लाह ने डॉ पकड़ा और खेना प्रारंभ किया। नदी की धीमी लहरों पर नाव धीरे-धीरे जा रही थी। नदी की दोनों ओर के दृश्य का आनंद हमलोग चुपचाप ले रहे थे। एक ओर भव्य भवन धीरे-धीरे पीछे हट रहे थे। वे खिलौने की झोपड़ी की तरह मालूम पड़ रहे थे। दूसरी ओर बालू का सुविस्तृत मैदान था। कुछ दूर खेने के बाद हमलोग एक स्थान पर पहुँचे जहाँ गर्दन तक पानी था। यहाँ नाव रुकी और हमलोग जान करने के लिए पानी में उतरे। खान करने के बाद हमलोग फिर नाव पर आए। वह पुनः रवाना हुई। हमलोगों ने नाव पर नाश्ता किया। इसके बाद हमलोगों ने संगीत का प्रोग्राम आरंभ किया। हमारे मित्र का सुरीला संगीत नदी की मृदुल लहरों पर प्रतिध्वनित होने लगा। नदी के शांत वायुमंडल में यह गूंज उठा।

परेशानी

4. हमलोग अब गंगा और गंडक के संगम के निकट पहुँच रहे थे। छोटी-छोटी नाव के लिए यह खतरनाक स्थान है, खासकर उस समय में जबकि मौसम खराब हो। भाग्यवश हमलोगों के लिए मौसम शांत था। नदी की धारा भी अनुकूल थी। हमलोगों को कोई खास कठिनाई नहीं हुई।

पर्यटन की समाप्ति

5. हमलोगों की आगे अच्छी ही गति रही। हमलोगों का संगीत बंद हुआ और तब हमलोगों ने ताश खेलना आरंभ किया। साढ़े पाँच घंटे की यात्रा के बाद हमलोग दोपहर में सोनपुर पहुँचे। श्री हरिहरनाथ का मंदिर घाट के निकट ही था। हमलोगों से सबसे पहले श्री हरिहरनाथ के दर्शन किए। तब हमलोग मेला घूमने के लिए निकले।
