2. फुटबॉल का खेल बड़ा ही दिलचस्प है। यह दो दलों में खेला जाता है। प्रत्येक दल में ग्यारह खिलाड़ी होते हैं। इन ग्यारह खिलाड़ियों में एक गोलकीपर, फुल बैक, तीन हाफ बैंक, और पान फारवर्ड होते हैं। खेल के निरीक्षण एवं नियंत्रण के लिए एक रेफरी भी रहता है। एक बड़े मैदान में यह खेल खेला जाता है। खेल के कुछ निश्चित नियम होते हैं। खिलाड़ियों को उन्हें मानना पड़ता है।

इस खेल को अन्य प्रमुख विशेषता अनुशासन है जिसके कारण मैं इसे पसंद करता हूँ। यह खिलाड़ियों को अनुशासन का महत्त्व सिखाता है। खिलाड़ियों को मैदान में कुछ नियमों का पालन करना पड़ता है। उन्हें रेफरी का निर्णय मानना पड़ता है। रेफरी अपने निर्णय में गलती कर सकता है, लेकिन खिलाड़ियों को उसे मानना ही पड़ता है। उन्हें अपने कप्तान की आज्ञा माननी पड़ती है। इन सभी चीजों से आदर्श नागरिक बनने में उन्हें सहायता मिलती है। फिर विदेशी खेल होते हुए भी फुटबॉल भारतीय स्थिति के लिए बहुत अधिक उपयुक्त है। साल में छः महीने यह खेला जा सकता है। इस खेल के संबंध में दूसरी बात यह है कि यह अधिक खर्चीला खेल नहीं है। मैं इस खेल को इसलिए भी पसंद करता हूँ कि इससे पढ़ाई में बहुत ही कम व्यवधान पड़ता है।
यह खेल केवल एक घंटे के लिए संध्या में ही खेला जाता है। सबसे बड़ी बात तो यह है कि फुटबॉल यश और प्रसिद्धि प्राप्त करने का अवसर देता है। फुटबॉल के अच्छे खिलाड़ी का लोग अत्यधिक सम्मान करते हैं।
