1. It is the common desire  of all men to visit distant lands and places of religious and historical importance . This is done by travelling. Many men desire to visit places of pilgrimage only. Some people like to see places of historical interest. A large number of people, however, travel only for purposes of business (व्यावसायिक कार्य से) or out of necessity. There are very few people in India who travel only for the sake of travel. The reason, perhaps lies in their poverty .

2. Travelling is a very good thing. It helps people to come in contact with people of other parts of the world. They get an opportunity to study their ways of living, habits, manners, customs. etc. This broadens the outlook  of man and teaches him the qualities of tolerance , patience , sympathy  and charity  A regular traveller is the most well-informed man. He gets a very good idea of the geographical features of a country, because he sees things with his own eyes. Travelling affords a good deal of pleasure also. A traveller has opportunities to see beautiful scenery. Widely travelled people are familiar with the educational and industrial systems of many countries. They can compare them with the systems prevailing in their own country, and make reforms . They gain much experience, and cannot be easily cheated or deceived . They also see rare products of art and sculpture and so their taste also becomes refined.

3. In ancient times travelling was not safe. It was expensive  too. So, very few people had the good luck to travel far. The means of transport were not so much developed nor were good road. 

 4.Many peale don't know the real meaning of traveling but in the markets, and then go back. The  important and interesting places of a particular land . Then only, they will have real idea of that place.
