1. Of all the games, cricket is most charming. Many people are madly in love with it. Cricket matches are played during winter. A test cricket match takes five days. There are one-day matches also The game of cricket is very popular in England, Australia, the West Indies, India, Pakistan. New Zealand and Sri Lanka:

2. In 1986 I had an occasion to see a Test Cricket match in Patna. It was a very interesting match between India and Australia. The match was played in the Moinul Haque Stadium. Long before the match all tickets had been sold out. A large number of cricket lovers had come over to Patna. It was a very big crowd, The Moinul Haque Stadium was packed.

3. The match started at 9:50 am. The Indian captain was Sunil Savaskar and the captain of the Australian team was Allen Border. Allen Border won the toss. Australia went in to bat. Australia had a powerful opening batsman in Mr Smith. But Kapil bowled a beautiful opening spell. Wickets started falling and Australia were all out after having a few runs in the first innings. The Indian players did well against the hostile bowling of Davis and others. So, the Indians batted well and reached a respectable total.

4. On the fourth day. Australia went in to bat again. It was facing a big deficit. Kapil again bowled well. In a few hours the top batsmen of Australia were back in the pavillon. They could not score against the spin attack of Shastri and Yadav. On the last day India batted again. It had to score 225 runs to win the match. Our players started well. But some of them could not stay on the crease for long. The match was a draw.

5. This Test match in Patna is still fresh in my memory. The way the Indian players denied victory to Australia was thrilling. Every body praised the young Indian side.

एक क्रिकेट मैच का परिचय :-

1. भूमिका, 2. व्यवस्था, 3. प्रथम तीन दिनों का मैच, 4. अंतिम दो दिनों का खेल 5. उपसंहार।

1. जितने भी खेल है, उनमें क्रिकेट सबसे अधिक आकर्षक (मोहक) है। बहुत से लोग इसे अत्यधिक पसंद करते हैं। क्रिकेट का मैच जाड़े में खेला जाता है। एक टेस्ट क्रिकेट मैच में पाँच दिन लगते है। एक दिन का मैच भी होता है। क्रिकेट का खेल इंगलैंड, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, वेस्ट इंडीज, भारतवर्ष, पाकिस्तान, न्यूजीलैंड तथा श्रीलंका में काफी लोकप्रिय है।

2. 1986 ई० में मुझे पटना में एक टेस्ट क्रिकेट मैच देखने का अवसर मिला था। यह भारत और आस्ट्रेलिया के बीच बड़ा ही मनोरंजक मैच था। यह मैच मोइनुल हक स्टेडियम में खेला गया था। मैच आरंभ होने के काफी दिन पूर्व ही सभी टिकट बिक चुके थे। भारी संख्या में क्रिकेट प्रेमी पटना आए थे। मोइनुल हक स्टेडियम भरा हुआ था।

3. सुबह 9 बजकर 50 मिनट पर मैच शुरू हुआ। भारतीय टीम के कप्तान सुनील गावस्कर थे और आस्ट्रेलिया की टीम का एलेन बोर्डर। एलेन बोर्डर ने टॉस अतः, आस्ट्रेलिया ने बैटिंग (बल्लेबाजी) आरंभ की। आस्ट्रेलिया के देड़ी देर में विकेट गिर और पहले इसमें आस्ट्रेलिया के आउट हो गए। भारतीय खिलाडेविस एवं अन लियों के के विरुद्ध अर डटे रहे। अतः उन्होंने अच्छी बल्लेबा की और सम्मानजनक बना

4.दिन की टीम ने पुनः शुरू की यह हारते जा ने फिर बढ़िया गेंदबाजी को कुछ ही घंटों में आस्ट्रेलिया के प्रसिद्ध में वापस आ गए। वे शारखी तथा जोशी के स्पिनी के नहीं सके अंतिम दिन भारत की टीम ने पुनःबाजी की। इसे मैच के लिए 255 रन बनाना था हमारे खिलाड़ियों ने अच्छी शुरुआत की। पर, उनमें से कुछ लोग जल्दी हो आउट हो गए। 

5.पटना काटेस्ट मैच मेंबर याद रहेगा। जिस तरह से भारतीय टीम ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया की टीम को जीतने नहीं दिया ही रोमांचक था हर किसी ने भारतीय टीम की सराहना की
